The fifth single to be released from Jamie's upcoming album 'We Get By', 'This Place' is, in my opinion, Jamie's finest release to date.
Jamie comes back with 'This Place' a tune all about not forgetting your roots and where you've came from. Lyrics are powerful, relatable. Instrumentals are excellent. Quick guitars. Most of all it has a beautiful melody. I expect 'This Place' to be a fan favourite, one where you would have your arms wrapped round your mates shoulders, pint in hand, singing loudly. I feel like this could be one of those 'football songs' has that feel of nostalgia to it. I personally think it brings people together.
Speaking to Jamie on our recent podcast below (17:00), he explained how he wants the song to "put an image in your head of the place you grew up and what a time it was." This will give the tune longevity as the theme is something everyone, no matter where you're from or where you have came from can relate too and is most likely the reason why I consider this to be Jamie's best song yet.
This song just sums Jamie up to a T, with good quality guitar and lyrics which tell a story, I can see this being one of his biggest hits which would be some feat considering 'Weekend in Paradise' just hit one million streams.
If you haven't already, go listen to 'This Place' either on the podcast above or over on Jamie's page, you will not regret it at all!
